About The Event

Welcome to 10 CAN's ROPES Course. Designed from the Aboriginal model, youth will embark on this transformational journey into purpose-driven citizens. This adventure initiates their ascent into adulthood, teaches responsibility, and reminds them how good they got it.

Quitting is not an option. Once they finish this course, there’s nothing they won’t be able to overcome.

Teams (1-youth & 1-guardian) will launch on the Suwannee River from Fargo, GA. and finish in White Springs, FL. (if river is not flooded - if it is then this will be a land-based ROPES course in Ocala). Youth will receive survival training on day 1, then must apply that training to complete the remainder of the course.

Guardians are not to aid youth except to keep them safe. Guardians are fully responsible for the physical well-being of their youth. Youth must work through mental/emotional problems on their own, must catch or gather their own food and water, and must assemble their own shelter.

Each youth will be awarded a graduation gift upon completing the course if coach Steve passes them.

Guardians may bring their own food and water but must not share with youth. Guardians must always stay within eyesight of youth. Guardians must know how to swim. No firearms are permitted without consent by coach Steve.

This adventure consists of riverside camping, whitewater rapids, fishing, campfire cooking, wilderness survival training, kayaking, etc.
